‘Doctor Strange’ star Mads Mikkelsen to replace Johnny Depp aka Gellert Grindelwald in ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’? Find out

Popular star Mads Mikkelsen, who has worked in several blockbusters like ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Doctor Strange‘ and many more, is reported to be in talks to replace Johnny Depp aka Gellert Grindelwald in ‘Fantastic Beasts 3‘.
While Depp recently announced that he is no longer a part of the fantasy film franchise post his loss in libel case to ex-wife and actor Amber Heard, Warner Bros’ are reported to be in early negotiations with Mikkelsen.

‘Fantastic Beasts’ is a spin-off to JK Rowling‘s popular Harry Potter franchise. While the shoot of the third instalment was halted in March due to the pandemic, the makers have reportedly resumed the shoot in the UK.

According to reports, Depp had just shot one scene for the film till date but according to his pay-or-play contract, the makers of Fantastic Beasts will need to compensate him fully whether or not the film is made or even if he is recast.

‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ is currently scheduled to be released on July 15, 2022. The film which is being helmed by David Yates will also star Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Jude Law, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol and Ezra Miller in pivotal roles.
